Sadly this was Tony's last regular game before he moves to Bournemouth. Despite looking as if he had just popped in from the beach, he never saw fit to avail himself of a set of whites, Tony was perhaps the most elegant batsman I saw playing for the Coach. Last year was a real run feast for him with at least one ton, and numerous fifties. I had the pleasure of partnering him in a stand of 180 against London Fields last year. His runs were far more elegant than mine. Never one to mince his words, there will be few relieved opponents out there now that he is off. We hope he comes back for a few one-offs in coming years Goldenballs on his way to one of the slowest 22's ever seen, and playing himself back into form. We can only imagine what happened after he played this elegant shot. One thing we can surmise is that he didn't run a quick, or even medium paced single. Phil D, in mid flow. Had the picture been taken 30 seconds later we would have seen Goldenballs come into shot. Puffing away like a giant Radish. |
